Why Babbletype
Market research transcription, translation and content analysis is all we do
At Babbletype, we focus on being exceptionally good at just a few things. We specialize in audio to text services, and in supporting the project, budget and deadline needs of market researchers, and nothing else. When you order transcripts from us, you have our undivided attention.
Everything we sell is something we actually do
Believe it or not, most firms that sell transcription and translation services don’t actually do those things. They subcontract the whole thing out and tack on a nice fat margin. Want to know what’s actually going on? Have a special requirement? Good luck.
At Babbletype, everything we sell is something we actually do. Nothing is subcontracted to other firms. If you want to know what’s going on, you’ve found the right place.
Over 10 million minutes of market research recordings transcribed
Babbletype has been serving the market research community for more than two decades. Everything we do is built from the ground up for that purpose only.
High capacity, fast turn
Babbletype maintains extensive production capacity in English transcription and the languages most commonly targeted in market research, ensuring swift turnaround regardless of the size of your order.
Humans only
Many firms use machine transcription (or worse, machine translation) to produce drafts, then human beings to polish. This has less than salutary results, to say the least, including many hidden errors. Everything Babbletype produces is created by human beings from start to finish.
Free timestamps (more important than you think)
Ever wonder why timestamps are something transcription companies charge more for? It’s not because they’re actually hard to do. It’s because without them, you really can’t check anything against the recording. We use timestamps in our internal quality processes, and leave them in so you can too.
Exclusively native resources
All Babbletype transcripts and translations are produced by native speakers in their languages. Nothing is produced “offshore”.
Project orientation
We know you don’t just need a transcript, that you have a project to complete and a report to deliver. We know we’re the last stop before you can do that. We focus on your whole project, and work with you to ensure you hit that deadline.
A reputation for problem solving
Market research projects are complex, deadline-driven and high pressure. Things go wrong. Emergencies happen. When they do, we’ll be there to make sure it gets handled, every time.
Experienced, adult management
Babbletype is run by its owners — experienced managers with decades of experience in getting things done. See our Management page for details.
Customers first (yes, really)
Customer service is said so often and so insincerely that it’s hard to know what it means anymore. All we can do is tell you what it means for us. We answer weekend emails. You can reach us on our cell phones. We drop what we’re doing and focus on your problems first. We treat your emergencies as our emergencies.
No promises we can’t keep
Does the statement above mean we always say yes? No. We’ll be frank with you about what’s achievable and what isn’t. We never make promises we’re not certain we can keep.
Quality guarantee
This is simple. If you are not satisfied with our work for any reason, we’ll fix it until you are satisfied. See our Quality Guarantee page for details.
Price guarantee
Babbletype as an organization is designed to have low overhead, highly efficient processes and low costs specifically to be able to deliver the lowest possible transcription and translation costs to our customers. See our Price Guarantee page for more details.
No surprise pricing
In transcription there’s something called a “factor”. It’s something a company charges extra to do, above the quoted price. Heavy accents, background noise, too many speakers and poor quality recordings are all factors. Your quote will often exclude those, but your invoice won’t.
Babbletype rarely charges additional fees for anything. We stand by our quote. You’ll be invoiced by the recorded minute for actual work you give us, and nothing else. We don’t charge extra for accents, timestamps, poor quality recordings, or any other “factors”.
In the unlikely event you ask for something not part of our normal services, you’ll know and approve the exact additional cost before any work gets done. (For a listing of the most typical of these, see our Options page.)
